Quilt Top Notes/Techniques
Flying geese templates for sawtooth stars were too small so used “Square in a Square” ruler to create them. Also used ruler to create half diamond sections for centre star blocks. Because the bias was opposite of normal, interesting patterns were created once washed.
Quilting Notes/Techniques
Ditch quilted around stars using walking foot. Walking foot stars in borders. Lots of turning the quilt. Used Sew Easy cotton batting from spotlight. Lots of fuzzies and bearding while quilting. Had to pre-wash batting.

Quilted through middle horizontal and vertically, as well as through the corners diagonally. First time I learned I needed to use a walking foot to quilt.
Fused red and green fabrics back to back, satin stitched around template and cut out around edge of stitching to create flowers and leaves. Used star burst beads for centres. Used store bought bow.

Quilt Top Notes/Techniques
My first quilt.
Used crappy polyester batting that melted and squished when fish were fused on. Didn’t know how to sew on borders, so just sewed the them on; definitely not square.
I still display this quilt in my house and like to see how far I’ve come.
Quilting Notes/Techniques
Essentially a quilt-as-you-go, zig zagging over the edges of the water strips. Straight line quilted 1/4″ from inside of border.
